Selling or renting easily and without an agency? This is the promise of the startup Aimmoz, founded by two graduates of KEDGE

The Aimmoz project began in 2019 when Jean-Baptiste, in his final year of a Master's degree at KEDGE, put an apartment up for sale in Bordeaux. For mainly financial reasons, and like 1 in 3 French people, he didn't want to go through an agency, but to sell on his own. It was at this point that he came up against the difficulty of finding a buyer himself; it required time and knowledge that he didn't necessarily have.

A few months later, while working for Savills, a leading British commercial real estate group, he visited a number of trade fairs dedicated to new real estate technologies. He discovered a wide range of services, none of which were directly accessible to private individuals.

With Ely, his long-time partner, they made the connection between this observation and the experience of selling the apartment: why not put all these new technologies at the service of private individuals, helping them to sell their property. Without an agency, but easily, quickly and at the best price?

And so Aimmoz was born, to help private individuals sell their property. No commission, no commitment, no mandate, thanks to innovative service packages including valuation, professional photo reportage, virtual visit & 2D plan, ad writing & publication etc.

All that's left for the owner to do? The visits. The fixed price starts at €490, with the Aimmoz guarantee: the customer is reimbursed if the property is not sold.

The aim of Aimmoz's revolutionary approach is to enable private individuals to regain control over their real estate and make it simple, fast and financially accessible. Aimmoz means selling yourself, but not alone.

Aimmoz, which launched in early April, is the fruit of a long-standing friendship between Jean-Baptiste and Ely. They met in their 1st year of business school at KEDGE in 2013. They studied, lived and traveled together during their studies. They also worked for the same company in commercial real estate, before embarking on this project.

Jean-Baptiste worked in residential real estate in Barcelona, then in commercial real estate in Paris, where he also took a 4-credit course at the Institut de Droit et d'Economie Appliqués à l'Immobilier. As for Ely, after gaining experience in automobile financing with a major manufacturer, she worked with Jean-Baptiste in commercial real estate in Paris, for a major British group.

How has KEDGE helped you to become what you are today, and how has its teaching helped you to develop your project?

It's thanks to KEDGE that Aimmoz came into being. Quite simply because we met at the start of the 2013 academic year. From then on, we studied together, but also traveled and lived together as part of our studies. We never left each other's side, even working for the same company just after our respective end-of-study internships.

Throughout our studies, we had the opportunity to travel, learn and discover... thanks to the courses given at KEDGE, at our partner universities abroad, but also during the various internships integrated into the program. Above all, this multiplication of experience has taught us to adapt. Adapting to different cultures, different ways of life and new ways of working. This adaptation is probably our greatest strength today; from the initial idea to our current offering, we have evolved enormously, adapting to the market and everything we have learned from it.

Since the beginning of March, we've been incubated at KEDGE's Business Nursery; a nod to our shared history, which began almost 13 years ago. This support has helped us to progress and grow, thanks to its many facets.

Their ambition doesn't stop there. In fact, the founders are already planning to expand their business to include helping private individuals buy and move home, as well as making savings on housing costs. A major challenge, given that real estate is the biggest item of expenditure for French households.

An important social commitment for a startup that is just as important from an environmental point of view. Aware of the real estate industry's impact on greenhouse gas emissions, Jean-Baptiste and Ely have committed Aimmoz to contributing to the ecological transition of the real estate sector. Aimmoz is committed to digitizing its processes as far as possible, and contributes to reforestation by allocating part of its profits to projects supported by Reforest'Action.
