Through 10 key steps, Anne-Laure guides readers through the job search process, from the conception of their professional project to the validation of their trial period, via the writing of their CV and covering letter, the interview, the negotiation of their salary...

His book"Le Pas à Pas de la recherche d'emploi : 10 étapes pour vous guider" (Editions Ellipses), offers :

  • testimonials from recruitment professionals, candidates and professionals, to help you decipher situations of success and failure, etc. ;

How did KEDGE help you become what you are today, and how did its teachings help you write your book?

I joined KEDGE after 2 years of intense preparatory classes, where the amount of freedom and creativity is fairly limited. KEDGE enabled me to discover myself through the different modules offered, the various events organized by the associations, the university exchange and the different encounters. All these elements enabled me to gain self-confidence, to dare to reach my goals and to always go further.

KEDGE has given me this entrepreneurial mindset that suits me and never leaves me! After years as a salaried employee, in 2021 I set up "Mon Recruteur & moi", my own recruitment agency specializing in accountancy jobs in Nantes, Angers and Rennes. In 2022, I wrote my first book "Le Pas à pas de la recherche d'emploi" for job seekers, published by Eyrolles (March 2023). Who knows what's next?

Can you tell us more about your book and who it's aimed at?

I've been a recruitment consultant for 7 years and I'm always very surprised when I meet candidates whose sole aim is to "pass" their job interview. This can certainly open the door to a permanent contract and a salary that provides a certain degree of personal comfort.

However, I'm convinced and driven by the idea that recruitment must go beyond the simple interview. For me, it involves several stages (10 to be precise).

Knowing yourself well and having clearly defined your career plan are fundamental steps in ensuring professional fulfillment. In this book, I pose a number of questions to help guide your thinking. Starting from this premise, it's clear that, depending on the expectations and constraints of each individual, the search will not be the same. I therefore suggest various avenues of research, and it's up to the job seeker to choose the ones that suit him or her best! On the other hand, the preparation of an application and the conduct of a recruitment interview are more codified. The book therefore provides outlines, questions and scenarios to help you get to grips with these exercises. Finally, the book includes step-by-step instructions to help you negotiate the contract, prepare for your departure and your arrival in the new structure! We all too often forget that recruitment doesn't stop once the interview is over, but once the trial period has been validated!

This book is therefore aimed at anyone looking for a job (whether it's their first time in the workplace, returning from long-term leave, retraining or simply a change of employer). And as each search is unique, the book is participative: I ask different questions or suggest different approaches, and each reader makes his or her own!

Finally, do you have a message for our graduates and students?

Trust yourself! Don't do what others expect of you, what society makes you do, but trust yourself! Dare to be yourself!
