On September 30th, Olivier Guitard, accompanied by Magali Barbaroux, Corporate Research Fellow, and Nelly Montenay, Product Development Manager, visited the 2019/2020 cohort of the MSIS program at KEDGE Business School. As patron, Olivier shared his personal and entrepreneurial journey within Sartorius Stedim Biotech, a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Let’s take a closer look at his background and career path.
HIS JOURNEY:
Olivier Guitard graduated from KEDGE Business School’s Grande École Program in 2002.
With nearly 20 years of experience, this KEDGE alumnus has developed strong international expertise.
He began his career in 2001 at Ernst & Young as an Audit Manager (EY is one of the world’s largest financial audit and consulting firms). In May 2007, he joined Sartorius Stedim Biotech as CFO of the FMT Business Unit, and three years later, he became Managing Director South Europe and Group CFO.
According to Paul Gimet, Director of the MSIS program and professor of strategy and innovation at KEDGE:
"This powerful and insightful speech from a business leader will likely resonate with our students for a long time — both in terms of leadership posture and the deep values conveyed by the man himself."
Beyond Olivier’s testimony as patron of the cohort, the collaboration with Sartorius Stedim Biotech will allow MSIS students to work on a real-world innovation case throughout the year, focusing on the packaging of the brand’s products.
To do this, Magali Barbaroux and Nelly Montenay asked students to define a strategy and roadmap that integrates political, economic, social, technological, and environmental constraints in a highly competitive environment.
Students will have the opportunity to learn while contributing to a technical, complex, and multidisciplinary industrial challenge with significant economic and environmental impact — even before graduating.
For Christophe Mouysset, Director of Corporate Relations at KEDGE, and Claude Spano, Director of Innovation:
"This active sponsorship is a key part of our strategic focus on 'The School-Enterprise' model, where business is at the heart of our educational approach."
